Today I was explaining to Kylie the difference between a boy and a girl. I started naming people in our family and she had to tell me if they were a boy or girl. She was a little confused but got most of them right. When we got to Nammy's name she didn't answer. I told her that Nammy was a girl. She replied "NO! Nammy is my Nammy, not a girl."

Marriage
Brenna (age 3) loved to pretend she was married. Watching Joshua as he passed through the room she sighed deeply and said wistfully, “Oh, I am going to marry that man!”
Snuggle
The word sunggle, as it is defined by Braden (age 3): “A snuggle is laying on someone nicely.”
Honored
I was busy and asked Maddie (age 5) if she would be willing to hold Jacob and feed him a bottle.
“Oh, Mom!” she gushed. “I would be honored!”

Summer?
Joshua (age 7) stood beside me as I loaded kids in the van this afternoon. I could tell he was deep in thought as he surveyed the snowy landscape around him.
Josh shivered a little and asked, “Mom, are you sure it’s summer?… ‘Cause it still feels like winter to me.”
I was surprised by his question, and replied, “But it is winter, Joshy.”
“Still?” came the incredulous reply. I assured Joshua that it really was still winter, and then asked him why he thought it was summer already.
“Well,” Josh explained, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “It’s after New Year’s…”

Potholes
When Nammy and Papa took Brenna to gymnastics, Brenna noticed a road sign that stated, “Potholes ahead.” She asked what a pothole is and Nammy and Papa explained that it is a hole in the road that originates with water and ice under the road, loosening up and cracking the pavement until a hole is created that is sort of shaped like a pot in the road. So it’s called a pothole. A moment later, the car’s right tires hit a pothole that could have swallowed a VW bug. Brenna looked back over her shoulder and asked, “Was that a pothole?” The timing of her comment was perfect, along with the timing of hitting the pothole immediately after the description was given. You had to be there to fully appreciate it.
Oh So Cute!
Nammy and Papa got to babysit Kylie and Taylor when Michelle and Jonny went on a cruise. One morning as Nammy was drying and styling her hair, Kylie climbed up on the bathtub and leaned over the counter. She looked at herself in the mirror and commented, “Oh, so cute” and she was right!

Nail Polish
"Did you paint your nails when you were little?" Brenna asked, as she carefully painted my fingernails pink. Maddie was working on my toenails.
"No, not really," I admitted. Brenna and Madalyn both stopped painting and looked up at me, obviously a little baffled.
"So..." Brenna questioned. "Was nail polish not invented when you were a kid?"

Bows
I'm in the process of opening my own hair bow business. I wanted to take some cute pictures of the girls wearing some bows Misty and I made earlier this week. It's too gray and gloomy outside so we used the stairs. I thought these pictures were worthy of a post because they are just so darn cute!
bathroom songs
Kylie has been excited about going poop in the potty. I heard her today making up a little song for her poop while she was sitting on the toilet.
"Oh little poop, don't pee in the bathtub"
"Oh little poop, don't pee in the bathtub"
"you need to go to your home in the ocean"
"so I'll flush you down the toilet"
"GOO HOMEEE LITTLE POOOOOP!!!"
